My sweet little baby...

Wicket.

So today I was talking to my sister and I told her a funny story about Wicket and she laughed and said "That's just like babies, they do that." I cannot tell you how many times people tell me that- and I won't even try, just know that it is all the time.

Here's the story... Every time Wicket and I go anywhere together- in the car, he poops. If I am holding him he does his poop cry, generally I will stop in front of some foreclosed home and let him out to do his business (three times now)...but sometimes, I forget that this is the poop cry and I set him on the floor board because he is distracting me while I'm driving. When I do this, he poops on the floor board... every time. Now I realize that your child has probably not pooped on the floor board or on the lawn of a bank owned property, but my sister says babies often poop when they get in the car. Wierd.

Also, after long walks and a full day of play Wicket is very very naughty. He runs around in circles, chases his tail (like a dumb dog, I tell him this while trying to convince him not to), chews on the carpet and other dumb dog behaviors because he doesn't want to be put up. He thinks that if he can show us he's still a fun pup we'll keep him out- in reality he's so tired he can't think straight enough to make wise decisions.... JUST like babies.

Here's another funny story. A couple weeks ago, Doug and I were playing puppy x-games (more on that later) and Wicket got lots and lots of treats which messed up his digestive system. I took him to the bathroom 5 times and tried to get him to poop and he wouldn't. At the time he was on a very strict schedule (breakfast, lunch and dinner...like a BABY) and he had missed two appointments so I knew he had to go, but he wouldn't. That night, Doug took him and he has diarrhea and made a huge mess. I'm convinced that he was embarrassed to make a mess in front of the ladies (ya I know... not much like a baby but still funny).

I tortured him in the snow this morning.

He thinks it's super fun, until the snow stuck to his coat turns to ice and it won't come off. Fortunately, I have taught him to love the hair dryer.

Look at this face... would you trade your child for this?

Atlas just Shrugged... a little

Yesterday the house (notice the lack of capitalization, those idiots) passed the National Manditory Service Act this bill includes disturbing language indicating young people will be forced to undertake mandatory national service programs as fears about President Barack Obama'€™s promised a civilian national security force intensify.

Are these people crazy?

Ok, in all fairness, HB1388 does not mandate that youth volunteer per se. What is does is spend a whole lot more of our money on encouraging and incentivising them to and it leads us one step closer the a little place I call the farm... ANIMAL FARM.

Sadly, Utah's own Senator Hatch c0-sponsored the bill. Who do these people think they are? Anyway the senate is voting tonight on 277... call 'em up ya'll. And let's say in unision "Hatch, you suck!"

Meatballs and Ladybugs

My two favorite friends are coming to stay with me this summer and this post is just for them. I have put together a comprehensive list of all the fun things that we can do while they're here. There are in different categories bases upon expense.

So the girls should pick what they would like to do and star what they would love to do and then we'll try to get it all done when they come this summer.... and if you can think of something I missed, do share! My little ladies will be really grateful!

Doug's Endowment Trip

Here are some old ones!
I found these pictures from Doug's Endowment trip to Blanding. These were at the Monticello Temple. It was a good trip, and all the guys he works with came down and my parents came into town. It was a good weekend.

Temple Dedication

Doug and I went to the Draper temple dedication , it was really neat. I had the opportunity to go to the San Antonio and Houston dedication and for some reason I didn't. So it was a first for us both.

I think it was even more personal because we have both volunteered several times for the open house and our stake president was in charge of the open house so our stake was really involved in the whole deal. Also, ever talk in sacrament for the last three months has been about temples.

It was neat, and it's pretty dang cool to have a temple one mile away.

a day at the park...

We are loving our pup so much and the potty training is coming along quite nicely. We took him to the park today and were there for about 5 minutes before Wicket decided it was too dang cold, I'm glad it didn't take him much longer- husband and I were about to turn to ice. Oh and he's 11 weeks old now.

I'm in!

I got accepted into the University of Utah Speech Pathology program- Hurray! Doug planned the perfect celebration for the day I opened my letter. We went to Chili's and got triple dippers to celebrate. Have you ever had that? It's fabulous- $9.99 for three of the tastiest fried foods in the world (My personal faves at the southwestern egg rolls, sweet chicken crispers (number 9 on the tiple dipper list) and the hamburger bites).
Then we went to Petsmart and got some fun things for Wicket (treats) and some fun things for us ("Bitter Apple" no bite spray and some nail trimmers).

Then we went to TGI Fridays for the best desert in the world- the Brownie Obsession! The Brownie Obsession has been a longtime chain leader- but now, it's even better with an oreo crust topping extra fudge and caramel- it couldn't get any better. Doug says it might be the only thing that he can't make better at home- I'll add the sweet chicken crispers to that, those are phenomenal.

I always try to talk Doug into going to dinner one place and going to TGI Fridays for dessert and he thinks it's a little too much work- but look at him go.

Thanks husband, you're a good one.

Jason Mesnick...

Makes me sick. Seriously ill. " I had to do it, I can't control how I feel" After an (apparently very long) six weeks Mr. Mesnick has all the convincing he needs to recant his declaration of love and pounce on his pre-prepped prey.

Really? This, to me sounds looks like a drama queen with big time commitment issues.
