Obesssion

Estate Sales.

This lovely little shop in Salt Lake called Second Hand Chic buys all sorts of wonderful things for different sources. I didn't know the owner Kelly had a blog, but recently I read a post she made about attending estate sales to buy merchandise for her store. This is one of her new pieces... a fabulous John Widdecomb original living room set. I love it- this would be fabulous in some chic fabric- and I'm confident I could learn how to reupholster-

Problem- it's $650 from her shop... which makes me wonder how much she paid for it...pennies? I have subscribed to every list serve available that will announce with these estate sales are going on... because I'm definitely down for finding treasures.

Easy Breezy

A few months ago I heard a DJ on the radio talking about where you can get $.25 music downloads. I never looked into it but I shared that info with my sister Court who just bought her son an mp3 player for his birthday.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of the website where you can get this dirt cheap music. I still use itunes....because it's easy.

My husband would croak if he heard me say that. The thing that bugs him most in life is taking the easy/more expensive route. But let's face it, sometimes easier is better. If itunes over charged you, whats the probability that you would get your money back... now if popplay.com over charged you- you'd notice about the time that they disconnected their phone.

Where do you draw the line? I, for one, REFUSE to reuse a ziplock that has had a meat or dairy product in it (including mashed potatos that have both butter and milk).

Ok, back to the original topic- does anyone know where to buy cheap music online. I don't mean cheap/free, just cheap/cheap.

So the girls should pick what they would like to do and star what they would love to do and then we'll try to get it all done when they come this summer.... and if you can think of something I missed, do share! My little ladies will be really grateful!

Jason Mesnick...

Makes me sick. Seriously ill. " I had to do it, I can't control how I feel" After an (apparently very long) six weeks Mr. Mesnick has all the convincing he needs to recant his declaration of love and pounce on his pre-prepped prey.

Really? This, to me sounds looks like a drama queen with big time commitment issues.

Wishin' and hope-in'

Today is my sweet little niece Leia's birthday. I would post pictures of her because she really is beautiful, but I don't have any since my computer crashed a few months ago. She is 9- enjoy it little lady, the double digits aren't nearly as worry free as the singles!

Birthdays get me to thinking about all the things I would like to have- Doug and I have been on a pretty serious budget as of late (did I post that I found a gallon of milk for $.96 and a 5lb. bag of potatoes for $.99- I can't decide which is the better deal?) but there are some many things that I want right now... I made the mistake of going to DSW and I found a lovely pair of Ellen Tracy black patent leather shoes I love for $22 at 80% off... I wanted them so bad, but husband said, "I thought we just got you a dog that cost a lot of money, I didn't know you wanted everything" (well, he said something like that... I think in reality he just said "Buddy!" and that was all it took to put my credit card back in my pocket)

ANYWAY

Here are some things that I really like, for now:

Wouldn't this be fantastic for walking through and airport with the Wickster?

Our walls are barren, save it be some of Doug's very abstract art thats nice, but just not "warm and welcoming" and curtains I bought but now hate.

Two years ago, I talked Doug into painting the kitchen red, but I'm over it- I want something else... I'm not sure what color- but I love some of the options from Restoration Hardwear... I look forward to getting done with the red.

When I moved in, Doug already had a couch... and it's comfy if you're sleeping on it (I would know, this Wicket situation is making that a regular occurrence) but when you sit on it your head is constantly pushed forward..no likey. What I do like is this leather sectional from Pottery Barn...this would pretty much double the seating in our living room and would look really sharp with the next item on my list...

Hardwood floors.... we already have hardwood in our kitchen, but we really want to pull up the carpet in the living room and put down hard wood. One of my friends mentioned that lying on the floor and watching TV wouldn't be as nice if we had hardwood- but let's be honest... no one lays on our floor, we never have people over, and we have the basement for that...

And this is just lovely. It makes me feel...tired. Wait, I think that's just Wicket.

We're having a baby!!

Baby Puppy, of Course!

These two cute little pups are the two we are choosing from for our first child. We aren't so ambition to try a human first- Here are the boys at three weeks:

Heres one of them at two weeks:
Here they are with their sisters at just one week old.

We are going to choose one of these two little guys to be ours in two weeks... I have pictures of the parents too- but first, what do you think? Brown and black, or black and white? Either way we have named him Wicket... after the Ewok, because that is kinda what he will look like when he's older.

Check out Daddy, his name is Zecy. He was born in the Ukraine! Do you notice the Ewok resemblance?:
And this is Mommy, her name is Soxy. Isn't she adorable?
The puppies were born on Christmas Eve and we will get ours the last week in February, but we have to pick which on we want in two weeks.... tell us what you think. I'll post next weeks pictures when we get them.

Aaaand Back to Hair:

This picture inspired me from the moment it happened. It wasn't posted at the time I made my original hair post (I went with the Aniston bob by the way), but I love it. Samantha from America's Next Top Model, lucked out with this do. Some others had some pretty horrible things happen to their heads.... Jocelyn continues to annoy the ever-liven pack of ribs out of me, but I find pleasure in the fact that trany-Isis and Palin protege Hannah are out for the count.

Go Samantha!

Winter Shoes

So... it's that time of year! The time when we all start thinking of what we will put on our feet this winter season. How important is this past-time... very important.

Without it you could possibly spend another season with frozen tootsies.
Each of these fill a certain hole in my closet. I've taken this particular matter very seriously and ordered one of each of these boots so I can try them on with my wardrobe and decide what will make the perfect addition this season. Ordering from Zappos makes this really easy because they have free two-way shipping. Every girls dream!

Opinions, anyone?

Ouch, my back!

I totally hurt my back a few weeks ago... right in the middle- on my spine. It felt like I bruised myself some how... sore to the touch, ya know? I thought it would go away but really it just got worse- it started hurting when I sat up straight and when I rolled down or up, rolled over in bed... a shot of pain up and down my spine... Finally I broke down (sound the tumpets):

I went to this Godsend of a Chiropractor who cracked me into shape. It was actually really nice. When I went in there he looked me over, palpated me, if you will; and determined my problem areas. Then I got on a roller table, it looks like a massage table put it rolls your hips and back up, it's a little awkward but it feels good. Then he put electrodes on my middle back along with some heat on top of that for about 25 minutes. After that he sent a massage therapist in there to loosen things up, and whoa that hurt- after that Dr. Nelson came in and adjusted me. It was fast and relatively painless (although I am a little sore now). Apparently the problem is in the fulcrum of my back (vertebraes 6,7 and crowding my rib space and 8 is protruding... I don't know the medical terms for that.)where I bend over at my desk, it seems hard to fix but I did buy this cool little toy. It's actually a back ball for sit ups- but it doubles perfectly for lumbar support.

I have to go back on Wednesday for a followup- but so far so good. Aside from feeling like I just competed in a weightlifting competition, I feel great!

Lovely Locks

I am getting my hair cut today... soon actually, in a couple hours. I have been trying to decide what look I want to adopt- My lovely stylist, Abbey, is on maternity leave so I'm hesitant to put too much trust in someone news hands- here are my thoughts:

There is this, classic bob donned by J. Aniston.

Here we have something a little more edgy from DVB, more blond, more risky, harder to recover from...

But maybe, if I cut my hair like that I'll look like THIS! I am thinking I might start with the first and then cut by cut move into the edgier style. What do you think?
