Wicket, update

So it's been a while since I've posted Wicket pictures- his color has changed quite a bit. He lost a lot of his black and is mostly gray now. He is still rambunctious... but now he's HUGE. The pup that was never supposed to grow up is now 12 lbs... that's a big difference from the 5-8 I was expecting! Here they are!

This is our friend Dave and his baby- Wicket's the size of a 9m old!

Our boy's a star

Our breeder uses us as a reference, which I love because it gives me an opportunity to talk about our little Wicket. They've been saying they were going to put a picture of him up on their site, and it's finally up!!

He's on the bottom left.

So I think I mentioned this already, but we went to Blanding for Memorial day and spent some time with Doug Family. Here are some pictures from the trip.

This is a picture of Doug's parents' house. It's a little dark, but it's a cabin in a canyon. Like what you'd see in a movie.

This is Wicket's friend KC. It's Doug's brother Kerry's family dog. He is also a pup, but a humongous pup. He was great with Wicket- so gentle... but really playful so it was great.

This is Wicket- of course Doug went crazy taking pictures of Wick and otherwise (like usual) but this one is pretty cute.Doug's brother Kerry recently completed this house down in Blanding. It's awesome- really, it turned out really well. Every single window in the house has an amazing view.

This is a creek a little walk from their house. Wicket wanted to walk down by it- but Doug (the protective father) was afraid he would fall in. So we looked from afar.
It was a great trip.

My new friend Zoe

We went to Doug's parents for Memorial Day, and his sister and her family were there too and Wicket and I made a new friend, her daughter Zoe. (that was a definite run-on)
She wasn't too sure about Wick at first, but they fell in love before the weekend was over. She is the funniest thing.
I made the mistake of telling everyone this story about my nephew Conner telling Tiff to "Get a move on!" in front of her- and she was quick to pick up the phrase and use it over and over... and in the perfect contexts.
I have a horrible memory, so I can't remember ALL the hilarious things she said... but, she's funny.

Wickey Wickey Wickey!

Our friend Aria told us the other day that if she had a dog named Wicket she would say "Wickey Wickey Wickey!" In a high pitched voice whenever she wanted to call him... since then, Doug has been saying that non-stop, and oddly people in the office say it now too! Aria is a real trend setter, I guess!

Here's whats been going on for Wicket lately:

He lost his baby teeth and got big boy teeth.

He got to0 big to get out from under the sideboard, but not too big to get under it. So he frequently get's stuck there.

He got neutered, chewed open his incision, had it glued back together and then had to wear these puppy panties.

They are really just his coming home outfit that said, "It's a Boy!" on backwards and upside down. His tail is coming out of the head hole.

Can you believe that his whole little body used to fit in these panties?

MS Walk

So, Doug's a pretty good sport so we went to the MS Walk today with the Boren's. It was a pretty good time- we almost got a parking ticket, but we beat the parking police by like 10 seconds- but we had a great time and Wicket was a sure 'nuff hit.

We think we might start dressing him up in a Shumway Van Law t-shirt and use him for advertising. He get's so much attention.

Anyway, my department put together a team for the walk and they had an extra tshirt so Doug got one too. It was good for me to show up for school, but we had a great time aside from all that and Wicket was sure a sweet boy after he walked three miles.

We also ate at Moochies afterwards, Doug loves that place. It was in Diners Drive Inn's and Dives. I thought it was pretty good, but not as good as Doug thinks it is.

Ok, so the pictures.

This is an old school church building- it was beautiful.

The Crepe Myrtles are in bloom- all down the streets.

This is little Rachel Boren- and I love this picture of her.

Look at little Wicket getting his walk on.

Walking him was like playing a video game! It's a big deal- he likes run under feet.
Aw, a family photo... it might look familiar when you get our Christmas card.

So this is Therm... I didn't notice him- but Jenae did. He's from The Singles Ward. He gave us Power Bars.

Well, I don't know- he's just dang cute.

I kinda just thin this is a good picture of the whole deal.

BTW, we went with a gym membership to Snap Fitness down by Harmon's. We got a dang good deal and we have free tanning all this month there- you know what that means? I won't be nearly as pasty next time you see me!!

Fourteen weeks... and 4.7 lbs- porker.

I took Wicket to Petsmart today to get some treats. He was almost out, and we can't survive without them. So I weighed him, and he is almost 5lbs! He is supposed to be 7 lbs as an adult and he's only 14 weeks... not so good. So we're putting the baby on a diet. He's been self-feeding for a while and, which was good because he was really thin, but he's definitely not anymore- so we're going back to the recommended portions.

My sweet little baby...

Wicket.

So today I was talking to my sister and I told her a funny story about Wicket and she laughed and said "That's just like babies, they do that." I cannot tell you how many times people tell me that- and I won't even try, just know that it is all the time.

Here's the story... Every time Wicket and I go anywhere together- in the car, he poops. If I am holding him he does his poop cry, generally I will stop in front of some foreclosed home and let him out to do his business (three times now)...but sometimes, I forget that this is the poop cry and I set him on the floor board because he is distracting me while I'm driving. When I do this, he poops on the floor board... every time. Now I realize that your child has probably not pooped on the floor board or on the lawn of a bank owned property, but my sister says babies often poop when they get in the car. Wierd.

Also, after long walks and a full day of play Wicket is very very naughty. He runs around in circles, chases his tail (like a dumb dog, I tell him this while trying to convince him not to), chews on the carpet and other dumb dog behaviors because he doesn't want to be put up. He thinks that if he can show us he's still a fun pup we'll keep him out- in reality he's so tired he can't think straight enough to make wise decisions.... JUST like babies.

Here's another funny story. A couple weeks ago, Doug and I were playing puppy x-games (more on that later) and Wicket got lots and lots of treats which messed up his digestive system. I took him to the bathroom 5 times and tried to get him to poop and he wouldn't. At the time he was on a very strict schedule (breakfast, lunch and dinner...like a BABY) and he had missed two appointments so I knew he had to go, but he wouldn't. That night, Doug took him and he has diarrhea and made a huge mess. I'm convinced that he was embarrassed to make a mess in front of the ladies (ya I know... not much like a baby but still funny).

I tortured him in the snow this morning.

He thinks it's super fun, until the snow stuck to his coat turns to ice and it won't come off. Fortunately, I have taught him to love the hair dryer.

Look at this face... would you trade your child for this?
